The National Civil Police (PNC) denied an alleged case of homicide reported by social media users in Corinto, in the department of Morazán.
“FALSE. There is no homicide in Corinto, Morazán,” the PNC published on its X account.
The incident involved a habitual drunk identified as Felipe de Jesús Benítez, who crossed the street recklessly and was hit by a pickup truck.
Witnesses and residents of the area tried to help him at the time, but he died immediately at the scene of the road accident.
In addition, the Police reported that the driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and was not arrested because he had his documents in order and was not driving drunk.
“We ask the population not to be fooled by false or distorted information,” the PNC reiterated.
