Jakarta

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy provided logistical assistance to tourists trapped on the island Karimunjawa, Jepara, Central Java due to extreme weather conditions. The help is in the form of basic needs.

“Today it has been increased, there are 6 thousand boxes, with the assistance of several BUMNs, including Pelni, Jasa Marga, Pelindo, Jasa Raharja,” Muhadjir said at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang, Central Java, on Friday (30/ 12/2022).

Muhadjir said the aid would be delivered tonight. He hopes that logistics assistance will be delivered directly to him tomorrow.

“Tomorrow it will be in Angkasa Pura, tomorrow it will be transported by this ship, and tonight (it will be transported). Hopefully tomorrow it will arrive in Karimun Jawa, the Governor and I will be there to deliver it directly to the community,” he said.

Muhadjir said the assistance provided was in various forms. He made sure that the community received the aid.

“There are so many (items), the main thing is the basic needs needed by the people of Karimun Jawa who are currently trapped due to time,” said Muhadjir.

Meanwhile, Ganjar said the regional government had previously provided assistance to the trapped tourists. He hopes the assistance goes smoothly.

“The main thing is that the regent received assistance yesterday, so the first day the situation was like this, the regent after picking up those who were landed here, at the same time there was a helping hand,” Ganjar said.

“Checking this morning, the Jepara regency government is still in the market, which means that the basic necessities are available, now friends are assisting again, the Coordinating Minister is present himself, we hope it is safe , we’ll see tomorrow,” he added. .

Hundreds of tourists have been known to be trapped on Karimunjawa Island due to the extreme weather conditions. Their return has been delayed since last Thursday, due to high waves there were no vessels passing through Karimunjawa.
