New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the New Integrated Terminal Building of Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair through video conferencing today. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) gave this information in a statement. The PMO said that enhancing connectivity infrastructure has been a major focus of the government. With the commissioning of the new integrated terminal building built at a cost of about Rs 710 crore, connectivity in this union territory will get a boost. With a total built-up area of approximately 40,800 square metres, the new terminal building will be able to handle approximately 5 million passengers annually.
Functional aprons for two Boeing-767-400 and two Airbus-321 type aircraft have also been constructed at Port Blair airport at a cost of Rs 80 crores, so that the airport can now park 10 aircraft at a time.
