“PM and Finance Minister Turn to Oil Money to Avoid Austerity Measures in Municipalities, Hospitals, and Police”

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Finance Minister Trygve Slagsvold Vedum are filling up with oil money to prevent “strong austerity measures” in municipalities, hospitals and the police.

Finance Minister Trygve Slagsvold Vedum and Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre will use more oil money to compensate for the price increase.

Støre and Vedum meet for breakfast with eggs, jam and coffee in the prime minister’s residence. On the political menu is a revised national budget. This will be presented on 11 May. This year, the annual adjustment of the state budget is marked by the war in Ukraine.

Vedum says that the war means that much more money is moved in the revised budget than we are used to.
