Plus 19 of Putin’s friends: Brazil dances the samba at the G7 funeral – 2024-09-28 19:44:34

/ world today news/ The G-7 summit in Hiroshima showed that its era has passed and the dominance of the global South is beginning as a new pole of power and influence.

Everything in this world is temporary

The ancient wisdom that everything has an end has proven more relevant than ever to the global dominance of the collective West, epitomized by the existence of an informal group of seven industrialized countries in the world – the United States, Great Britain, France, Italy, Canada, Germany and Japan. It is known as the “Big Seven” or G7 in English.

At the annual summit of this association, which once claimed the right to decide the fate of the world on the basis of its military and economic power, which was just held in Hiroshima, the world saw overnight, literally live on television, how it took place global metamorphosis: the era of the G7 has ended and the era of the global South has begun.

And what is remarkable, this was seen from all continents, whose press, representing different interests and different political groups, without saying a word, noted it with almost identical comments.

Even on the eve of this meeting, the Western press let it slip that among the main tasks of the G7 summit will be to undermine the unity of the BRICS by isolating from it such pillars as Brazil and India, whose leaders were invited to Hiroshima and to which, as expected, the collective West will have to make very flattering and profitable offers in exchange for reducing their cooperation with Moscow, leaving neutrality with regard to the war in Ukraine, which in the context of the global confrontation is tantamount to supporting Russia . But this idea failed.

Demonstration by Lula da Silva

The culmination of the process of changing the world, a symbol of global metamorphosis, in which the G7, led by the United States, solemnly and publicly passed the baton of leadership to the global South, was a demonstration organized on the third day of a summit by Brazilian President Lula da Silva, invited to it.

He did not move, did not get up from his seat and defiantly did not look up, reading some newspapers, when the head of the Kyiv regime Zelensky was “brought” into the common room like a wedding cake. Lula simply ignored Zelensky, Lula seemed to be in another place and time, completely excluding himself from the general excitement surrounding the “dear Ukrainian guest”.

Footage shown by UOL, Brazil’s largest news portal, showed the hypocritical excitement of Western leaders around Zelensky: smiles, “sincere” joy, “friendly” pats on the shoulder.

And Lula was still sitting, engrossed in his reading, not paying attention not only to Zelensky, but even to US President Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, who squatted on his right and left hand, and who most joyfully greeted “the president ” of Ukraine. This should go down in history under the motto: Brazil ushered in a new era for the Global South.

Lula, like other leaders of developing countries, categorically rejected the idea imposed on them by the United States to supply arms to Kiev. The American The New York Times writes in this connection:

“Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi … issued a statement focused mainly on dialogue and diplomacy and offered only humanitarian aid, not military aid. It does not appear that Zelensky has swayed the leaders of Brazil or South Korea, who opposed sending weapons in Ukraine.”

Ukraine is a catalyst for the split between the West and the South

Probably, for some time to come, world politics will be built around the understanding that the collective West and its quintessence in the form of the “Big Seven” are a real force dictating the vector of world development.

But the conflict in Ukraine and the West’s demand that the countries of the Global South join the Western mainstream became the catalyst for the final divorce of these world political and economic agglomerations and the transformation of the Global South into a separate pole of power.

In this regard, the Japanese publication Nihon Keizai notes: “India and Brazil were cautious about their participation in Vladimir Zelensky’s G-7 meeting.”

“As a result, the negotiations on Ukraine on May 21 were divided into two parts: a meeting of the G-7 and an extended summit with the participation of developing countries in support of Kiev are present only in the materials of a part of the G7,” they also write .

“Brazilian President Lula da Silva, one of the leading figures in the global South, said in a debate on May 21 that we are witnessing the emergence of a multipolar order,” writes Nihon Keizai.

“Developing countries see this as a positive aspect for themselves. Lula said that the multipolar device, if developed, would benefit everyone,” the Japanese publication added.

South instead of West

If the Western press, recognizing the loss of the West’s leadership, tries to stay within the framework of soft diplomatic maxims, the Chinese prefer clearer and more direct formulations.

The South China Morning Post writes that in the emerging new global architecture, where the United States no longer has hegemony, the second pole of power and influence is by no means Europe, as some in the West would like to assume. According to Chinese political scientists, European politicians who sincerely or deliberately want to see Europe as a new pole are still deeply mistaken.

“Europe will not be able to become the ‘third pole’ in the emerging multipolar world. The Ukrainian conflict has made Europe even more dependent on the United States, both economically and militarily,” writes the South China Morning Post.

“Rather, the ‘third pole’ will be the global South. And nothing shows this more clearly than the global South’s responses to the conflict in Ukraine and the West’s nascent Cold War with China,” they also wrote.

The newspaper emphasizes:

“Developing countries, many of which have managed to build significant economic resources and political influence on the world stage in recent decades, have their own interests to defend, their own values to uphold and narratives to broadcast. They they choose their own paths and openly express their opinions”.

“The West can no longer dictate the terms of global conflicts and confrontations. This is proven by the fact that Western politicians, such as Emmanuel Macron and Kamala Harris, have met with quite sharp resistance from the leaders of several African countries during their visits to this continent.” , the Chinese publication added.

A relic of the military era

It is particularly remarkable that the funeral of the old world order was noticed by the leading British newspaper, The Independent, which was expected to sing about the “strengthening” leadership of the West. But no, even on the eve of the G-7 meeting, the newspaper writes things that are completely impartial to the West:

“Could hardly wish for a more symbolic farewell to the old world order than this weekend’s meeting in Japan. The leaders of the G7, an exclusive club of the world’s richest countries, are holding an annual summit in Hiroshima, a city that was destroyed by one of only two atomic bombs ever used in war… “.

According to the newspaper, “the composition of the G7 is more a relic of the post-war era than a ‘working group’ that decides the future of the whole world as it aspires to be.”

The Independent points out that the G7 has de facto ceased to be a group of leading economies and has become a sham without the real participation of “two of the world’s six largest economies” – China and India.

China is the world’s second-largest economic power, while India is sixth, according to IMF data from last year. However, neither China nor India have a seat at the so-called “best table in the world” (in the G-7) – except as an occasional dinner guest.

A bleak conclusion

So, there is a general understanding that the era of hegemony of the US and its satellites is passing into history. This became crystal clear at the G-7 meeting in Hiroshima. On the ruins of the old world order, the building of the new world has already been practically erected, in which there are several poles of power and influence, including the USA, Russia, China – if we talk about countries.

But if we talk about regions and political structures, then we have to name, on the one hand, the US-NATO-EU agglomeration and the recently created AUCUS, and on the other hand, BRICS, which is becoming a formal organization of the global South, given , that it already includes Brazil, China, India and South Africa, and that 19 countries from the Middle East and Latin America have already applied for membership.

BRICS currently accounts for 31.5% of global GDP, while the G7’s share has fallen to 30%. By 2030, BRICS is expected to provide more than 50% of global GDP, and the proposed enlargement will almost certainly accelerate this process.

Meanwhile, the United States, represented by the globalist elite that rules America and tries to rule the whole world, does not intend to give up leadership just because of the objectivity of world processes.

The very fact that the loss of US hegemony is clear to them is a great danger. The US “deep state” may try to invalidate the current situation in such a way that the erasure of US sins and debts to the rest of the world becomes a natural process that does not raise any questions or resistance from others. At the same time, the BRICS strengthening process will be stopped.

One of the tools for such a readjustment could be a global war, which would put humanity before the natural need to establish peace and primitive survival. At the same time, the globalist elite intends to survive this war without losing most of its wealth and influence.

Another tool for such a reset could be an actual bankruptcy of the US and a refusal to pay its debts. Undermining international confidence in US debt obligations could lead to a global economic collapse that would leave the entire world economy in ruins and could itself be the trigger for the same world war and other man-made upheavals.

Better late than never

That’s why discussions in the US to raise the debt ceiling are so watched around the world. And so the leaders of the Global South, in particular Lula da Silva, talk about the need to abandon the dollar as a payment currency in international trade and as a reserve currency.

These conversations are very heated and emotional. Because it was supposed to happen yesterday, which few were talking about. But the evidence for this became known only today, after the G-7 meeting in Hiroshima.
