Daan Beekhuis, chairman of Hockey Club Alliance, received the symbolic feather of the week last Saturday. The club received this for the way they deal with the corona rules. That can be quite a challenge. Certainly along the sidelines, the rule is sometimes forgotten, for example with a drink, but Alliance ensures that everyone adheres to the one and a half meters rule and that makes the club a local hero according to the municipality of Heemstede.
Everything on everything
The hockey club has various measures to keep everyone under the corona rules. For example, MHC Alliance has requested parents not to come and watch the games. During the matches it is not difficult to maintain one and a half meters, but when you come and go it is quickly too busy around the clubhouse.
Furthermore, stewards, volunteers, have been deployed to point out the distance and check whether the visitor has a good reason to be there. Visitors must register online. Furthermore, start times are spread out so that not too many people enter or leave at the same time.
Strict
According to Beekhuis, it was not easy to arrive at the new corona policy: “Many clubs are searching and have their own solutions. We also had to invent a lot ourselves. At Alliance we have been fairly strict from the start and we have not let go of that. We are doing what we can to help prevent the virus from spreading. ”
Alderman Sjaak Struiff understands that many people sometimes become a bit corona: “The rules require the necessary sacrifices. But it is precisely because we do it together that we will hopefully get corona quickly. ” The municipality is pleased that they are doing their best at MHC Alliance to prevent the virus from spreading.
Appreciation
The plume was distributed publicly for the first time, but according to a spokesperson for the municipality, this will certainly occur more often. “We would like to do this more often, to make visible how residents, entrepreneurs, associations, etc. deal with the corona rules and thus also set an example for others. We also want to show that these good promotions are seen and appreciated by the municipality. For example, we want to draw attention to the 1.5 meters and other corona rules in a positive way. ”
