In response to the “Thunder 2024” cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, the Organized Crime Investigation Bureau and the Police Triad, together with officers from all regions, police districts and mobile units, “digging holes” throughout Hong Kong yesterday (15th) “Operation” attack on about 160 entertainment centers, including mahjong parlors, bars, nightclubs, game arcades and saunas, etc., to fight organized criminal activities and to find sources – to cut off criminals.
Police said 153 local, mainland, non-Chinese and foreign men and women, aged between 16 and 74, were arrested during the operation on suspicion of alleged triad members. they were, attacking others, fighting, possessing offensive weapons, and possessing dangerous weapons. During the operation, nine fishing tools, three telescopic rods, approximately $15,000 in cash and approximately $13,000 of methamphetamine were seized.
The police said that the operation is still ongoing and reiterated that combating triad activities is one of the Police Commissioner’s top priorities and that he will never tolerate illegal triad activities. The Police will continue to conduct intelligence and make every effort to combat triad activity and their sources of income.
