/ world today news/ The Plovdiv socialists will mark today the International Day of Political Prisoners, Concentration Camp Inmates and Victims of Fascism and War with a rally-worship.
The event will start at 6:00 p.m., Monday, in front of the memorial plaque in the “Severen” area, on the site of the former Plovdiv prison. Organizers are the City Council of the BSP – Plovdiv and the Regional Council of the BSP – North. The rally-worship will be led by the chairman of the regional structure of the socialists, Dr. Atanas Batashki. Ilia Gatev – chairman of the Association “Memory and Future” will deliver a speech. The Chairman of the General Assembly of the BSP – Plovdiv, Dimitrina Vakrilova, will present membership cards to newly admitted socialists.
“April 11 has been celebrated since 1945 by decision of the United Nations. On this day, tribute is paid to the victims of fascism and those who suffered from the infernal Nazi death machine,” recalls Dr. Batashki.
