Losing seven consecutive pregnancies in 10 years, but ending up having a baby on the eighth attempt, is another testament to the power of the human will, learn Plovdiv24.bg. Proof that the desire for a child can be stronger than anything, stronger than pain and disappointment, doubt and fear. That hope is boundless energy and ultimately brings that happiness you have been fighting for yourself.
Iliana has had a rough path to parenthood. The young woman became pregnant soon after her marriage. But the heartbeat she’d been feeling so longingly stopped just as quickly as she’d begun to beat. The second pregnancy came a year later and lasted for five months. The shock was great because the pregnancy up to that moment was proceeding quite normally. Little did the young woman know at the time that this would repeat itself over and over again like a sinister episode that seems to project itself into her mind, blurring the line between reality and memory. More than once Iliana thought of giving up trying to give life, but the fleeting idea quickly flew away.
She has changed many doctors, in recent years she has traveled many kilometers to Sofia, but she has not found a solution to her problem and the pregnancies ended too early for the child to be saved.
She first came to Selena Hospital during her seventh pregnancy when a relative recommended she see Dr. Daniel Stavrev. The obstetrician-gynecologist recommended a cerclage, but Iliana refused. A few days later she called her, saying her water had broken. Another pregnancy that ended prematurely. Another baby that didn’t make it.
And after this loss, Dr. Stavrev has not stopped insisting that a laparoscopic cerclage be placed, and Iliana finally agreed. The news of another pregnancy was greeted by the family with fear and very little hope. The nine months passed in concern and uncertainty about the final outcome. An exit that came with tears of joy, relief and a wonderful full-time Bozhidar.
Iliana is already boldly planning her next pregnancy, which she will welcome and truly enjoy. As a reward for the experience of the last 10 years.
