“What you did on Facebook is reprehensible. I’m glad there are awake citizens like you, but you have to ask before you act. Now you will suffer the consequences of your actions.” This is what driving instructor Ivaylo Ivanov wrote to a Plovdiv resident who “dared” to post his car parked in a disabled spot on social networks.
The car, which is fully branded with the names of Ivanov, was stopped at the shopping complex at the intersection of “Iztochen” Blvd. and “6 September”. It was photographed and uploaded by our reader in one of the Plovdiv groups.
After that, he also received an inclusion from the driving instructor in question. It cites Article 32 of the Constitution, which states that no one can be followed, photographed, filmed without his express consent, except in cases provided for by law. He also attached a screenshot from his lawyer, in which he claims that the cameraman owes compensation to the “affected” driving instructor.
“So we will meet soon to clarify what happened,” wrote the driving instructor menacingly.
The reading of laws and regulations in this case is at least inappropriate by Ivaylo Ivanov, because he should also be aware that he must bear the consequences for parking in a disabled spot. Moreover, the instructor must be an example to the young drivers he trains.
Obviously, the driving instructor’s reading of the law, and apparently his lawyer’s, is not a particularly strong suit. It is clearly stated in the law that Art. 32 does not apply to the persons of Bulgarian citizens and not to their movable property.
The Plovdiv resident, who was threatened by Ivanov, is adamant that he will not submit to such a provocation and will report the wrong parking to the police on the very first day of work, so that the driver can be sanctioned.
