Plovdiv District Court declared null and void the clause for increasing the prices of mobile services. Although only at first instance, the decision is indicative, said BSP leader Cornelia Ninova, quoted by the party’s press center.
“At my parliamentary question, the prime minister defended the mobile operators by saying that these were normal commercial relations. No, they are not normal. This is not free negotiation but enslavement of the client. Not only us, but also the court confirmed that it is about unequal clauses in the contract. There is also a European directive that says any user can opt out of the service without paying penalties. And in Bulgaria, if they refuse, they have to pay a fine. This is absurd. And one more thing: the price rises automatically with the growth of inflation, and salaries, pensions, benefits never increase automatically. The assembly cannot be relied upon to protect us from the arbitrariness of monopolists and corporations. And because we want to live in a legal European country, we call on you: to block mobile operators in court. File mass appeals in district courts across the country. To confront the looting and lobbying government with the force of right and law. They are on our side,” she urged.
