Plovdiv boulevards – dark as in a cave

As autumn and winter approach Plovdiv, it gets darker and darker sooner and earlier. At 8pm it is quite dark and visibility is very limited on the boulevards, you saw Plovdiv24.bg. The only street lighting comes from nearby shops, car headlights, or some other illuminated shop window.

Around 20:00 the municipal enterprise “Transport Organization and Control” turns on the street lighting. Earlier this year, Plovdiv’s street lighting had to work in less than 30 minutes due to high electricity bills. At the time, the idea of interrupting the artistic lighting of some historic buildings was also discussed, but it didn’t come to that.

The editorial staff of Plovdiv24.bg he asked the municipal company if the early start of street lighting is being considered, but we still don’t have a clear answer.

In the gallery, you can see Iztochen Blvd. when the street lamps are off at 8pm and when they are on at 8.20pm. We hope that while the municipality is saving on electricity, there will be no accident on one of the junction boulevards.
