Last week’s episode of ‘The masked singer’ ended on a cliffhanger. Presenter Niels Destadsbader had another important message. We now find out what that is: one of the candidates cannot be unmasked this week thanks to an exemption. These are handed out to the candidates themselves.

“This is an exciting moment, also for me”, says Destadsbader, who walks to the candidates. “I am allowed to come here in a place where I am normally not allowed to go. The most secure place of all.” After which he communicates the message to the candidates: “The penalty is that you decide for yourself. So take a good look around: which one of you absolutely deserves to go through and can’t get exposed this week? Think about it carefully because it is a very important decision.” Also not unimportant: the candidates cannot vote for themselves.
For the first time this season, the Masked Singers now have to perform two songs. The first time solo, afterwards they go into a duel in an ultimate face-off. Ruth Beeckmans, Julie Van den Steen and Karen Damen follow along from the studio.
