Jakarta – PLN Indonesia Power (PLN IP) ensures that the Saguling Generation Business Unit (UBP) as one of the new and renewable energy (EBT) power plants remains reliable during the Eid 1445 Hijriah moment.
Management subholding PT PLN (Persero) directly monitors and ensures the reliability of power plants in Central Control Room (CCR) Saguling Hydroelectric Power Plant which contributes greatly to the Java-Bali electricity system, namely 2.7 percent of the total 27,700 MW and also as black start Jamali’s 500kV network system when electrical problems occur.
As explained by the Main Director of PLN Indonesia Power, Edwin Nugraha Putra, UBP Saguling has an important role in the Java-Bali electricity system, the electricity produced is channeled through the Saguling Extra High Voltage Main Substation (GITET) and interconnected to the network system throughout Java and Bali via the Main Voltage Line. Edwin added that PLN IP UBP Saguling currently has an installed capacity of 844.36 MW supported by 7 Sub Units and 1 PLTA unit under the auspices of PLN IP’s subsidiary, namely Rajamandala Electric Power, while the capacity of the Saguling PLTA Unit itself has a capacity of 700.72 MW.
Senior Manager of PLN IP UBP Saguling, Doni Bakar, explained that apart from supplying electricity in Java and Bali, UBP Saguling also plays a role in securing the Java Bali system in the event of an electricity disturbance.
“When a disturbance occurs, the Saguling Hydroelectric Power Plant can still be operated as usual black start as well as playing a role in charging voltage to support the Suralaya Steam Power Plant (PLTU). backbone Java-Bali electricity,” said Doni.
There are 7 Sub Units from UBP Saguling, namely Bengkok and Dago Hydroelectric Power Plant 3.85 MW (Bandung City), Plengan Hydroelectric Power Plant 6.87 MW (Bandung Regency), Lamajan Hydroelectric Power Plant 19.56 MW (Bandung Regency), Cikalong Hydroelectric Power Plant 19.20 MW (Bandung Regency), Ubrug Hydroelectric Power Plant 18.36 MW (Sukabumi Regency), Kracak Hydroelectric Power Plant 18.90 MW (Bogor Regency), Parakan Kondang Hydroelectric Power Plant 9.90 MW (Sumedang Regency) and Rajamandala Hydroelectric Power Plant with a capacity of 47MW.
