REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, KUPANG — PT PLN (Persero) Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) Eastern Flores supports the government of Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, to increase booster vaccination (booster) Covid-19 through vaccination activities given to residents and local PLN officers.
“Vaccination booster Moderna type was given to 114 people in the implementation of vaccinations held in the yard PLN UP3 Flowers Eastern part,” said Manager of PLN UP3 Flores for the East, Saut Pandjaitan in a statement received in Kupang, NTT, Tuesday (29/3/2022).
He explained that PLN UP3 Flores is working with the District Health Office Sikka to give booster vaccination to residents, power experts, and employees of PLN UP3 Flores Timur and PLN UPK Flores after six months ago receiving doses of vaccinations one and two. The implementation of booster vaccination, he said, was a form of support for the Sikka Regency Government to increase the realization of booster vaccinations to prevent transmission of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
Saut said this booster vaccination is also important to protect local PLN employees and their families from being exposed to Covid-19 so that they can continue to work to provide electricity services for the community or customers. “With health conditions that are maintained, the reliability of electricity supply and the best service for customers will continue to run smoothly,” he said.
Saut hopes that the support for the implementation of this booster vaccination can also motivate other residents to undergo the Covid-19 vaccination to increase body resistance to prevent the transmission of Covid-19. The more people who are vaccinated, he said, it will increase the immunity of the community so that various community activities such as economy, education, and others can move smoothly.
Meanwhile, the representative of the coordinator of surveillance and immunization of the Sikka Health Service, Jon Bola, said that the booster vaccination support carried out by the local PLN was very useful in order to increase the achievement of herd immunity. “We thank you for the vaccination support from PLN friends, which is certainly very useful for local governments in their efforts to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Saut.
He hopes that the cooperation in the implementation of vaccination will continue so that more elements of the community are vaccinated so that in the end, equal group immunity is created.
