Plíšková met Golubicová for the second time in her career. The first mutual match in the Fed Cup in 2016 was won by Switzerland. Muchová fought Kerberová for the third time, in 2019 the German won both previous duels.
On Thursday, the tournament eight Plíšková will play against the second seed Aryna Sabalenková from Belarus, who defeated the Tunisian tennis player Ons Džabúrová 6: 4 and 6: 3.

“I’m super happy to be in the Wimbledon semifinals for the first time. I had to work hard to get to this court,” Plíšková said in an interview on the court.
“The score looks simple, but in the end it was tricky. It wasn’t an easy match,” she said. She did not lose a hundred on the way to the semifinals. “That’s true,” she agreed with a smile, and continued, “I didn’t even think about it. We felt good before the tournament, and here I improve with every match.”

In the first game of the match, Plíšková’s line referee reported a foot error in the second service, which meant double error and agreement. The Czech Republic responded with an ace and has since dominated its administration. She got her gammas playfully. The exchanges mostly took place only during the service of the Swiss woman, whom Plíšková received under sharp blows under pressure and the first set certainly won 6: 2.
Plíšková continued to serve perfectly and also had a good interlude. She reacted in time to Golubic’s attempts to shorten and won long exchanges. After one of them, she ran the ball behind the net, sent it cross back and, to the applause of the fan, raised her clenched fist in the air.
The only problem with her service was again in the second set at 4: 2. The referee reported a foot error to her for the second time, but she averted the breakball with a direct point from the service. The Swiss sensed a chance, she had two more breakballs, but Plíšková always helped herself with her service. Immediately, when Golubic was given, she turned into a fourth sword and advanced in an hour and twenty-one minutes.
The completion of the third round of doubles awaits the highest-ranking Barbora Krejčíková and Kateřina Siniaková. Their duel with the Slovak-Dutch pair Viktória Kužmová, Arantxa Rusová did not manage to finish on Monday due to rain, on Tuesday they will be second in the program on court no. 12, where they were supposed to start at 12:00, but due to rain the start is postponed.
