Copyright madness on Twitch messes up RRR streams.

- Anyone streaming Rock N ‘Roll Racing should urgently turn off their music
- The game is not optimized for streaming
- Blizzard advises streamers to play the title with the sound turned off to avoid strikes
In Blizzard’s retro game Rock N ‘Roll Racing you drive trucks and listen to heavy rock music from Metallica, Deep Purple or Black Sabbath. Playing this rock racer is not a problem privately, but the situation changes dramatically when you unpack the trucks on the Twitch streaming platform.
A licensed music game on Twitch? Streaming experienced (regardless of whether producer or consumer) ring all alarm bells in their heads with this combination. And that’s a good thing, because who’s in the mood for a Twitch copyright strike?
Adam Fletcher, Diablo’s Community Development Lead, warns the community via his Twitter account not to stream with the music turned on, as the music could get the content creator in trouble.
“If you stream Rock ‘n Roll Racing from the Blizzard Arcade Collection, the game will have a soundtrack of licensed music that is not approved for streaming. If you want to stream, please do so with the music off,” said Fletcher.
PSA: If you stream Rock N Roll Racing from the Blizzard Arcade Collection, the game has a soundtrack of licensed music which is not cleared for streaming.
If you choose to stream, please do so with the music turned off.

If even Metallica is faded out during its own appearance on BlizzConline (their live music has been replaced by a funny and inappropriate piano game), you are sure not to be much luckier with Chiptune full versions of great rock classics. As the gamer says so beautifully: “Better safe than sorry!”
So if you don’t want to mess with DMCA, GEMA and Co., you’d better turn off the sound completely – even if this removes an important part of the gaming experience for the audience and the streamers.
If you want to stream parts of the Blizzard Arcade Collection, you can try Blackthorne or Lost Vikings instead. The other two retro games aren’t nearly as prone to Twitch strikes as the music racer is.
