Playwright Boris Dobrodeev dies – News – Culture – Kommersant

Playwright Boris Dobrodeev, who worked with directors Ivan Pyryev and Grigory Alexandrov, died at the age of 95. The honored artist of the RSFSR died on 23 September in shape Union of Filmmakers of the Russian Federation.

According to Mr. Dobrodeev’s scenarios, many feature films and more than fifty documentaries were staged. He has worked with such masters as Vsevolod Pudovkin, Ivan Pyryev, Alexander Dovzhenko, Mikhail Kalatozov, Mikhail Romm, Mikhail Schweitzer, Grigory Alexandrov, Eldar Ryazanov and others. For many years Boris Dobrodeev collaborated with director Semyon Aranovich.

Among the works of Mr. Dobrodeev are “Sofya Kovalevskaya”, “A Particularly Important Task”, “The Life of Beethoven”, “Red Diplomat”, “Pages from the Life of Leonid Krasin”, “Mother’s Field”, “The First Maestro “and others.

“The Union of Filmmakers of Russia, the Writers’ Guild, brings deep condolences to the family and friends of Boris Tikhonovich,” states the message on the Union of Filmmakers website.
