PlayStation will show new games on Thursday

Sony has announced details for its next State of Play presentation. The broadcast is set for Thursday 2 June, and for us in Norway the carpet goes up at 23:59.

Via the official PlayStation blog Sony explains that viewers can expect 30 minutes of new game announcements, as well as status updates on previously revealed titles.

Given that we are approaching the E3 season – even though the E3 itself has been canceled – there are high expectations for what Sony will show. However, the company says that the focus of the broadcast will be on games from third-party developers, in addition to upcoming PlayStation VR2 games.

That we also get news from PlayStation’s own studios is not ruled out, but it seems at least as if Sony is trying to dampen expectations for fans who are waiting again from, for example, God of War: Ragnarok.

Games that may appear are the next part of Final Fantasy VII Remake or Final Fantasy XVI. Square has kept quiet about the two games for a long time, but has hinted that we will see more from both in the near future.

Sony has too plans to release more so-called “live service” games over the next few years. Maybe we’ll find out more about one or more of these on Thursday.

You can follow the broadcast on either Twitch or YouTube.
