Has become! Although it was rumored about it two years ago, and also a year ago, a full-fledged announcement appeared only now. And all indications are that PlayStation VR 2 will hit the market in 2022, a new generation of virtual reality equipment from Sony. It will undoubtedly be an event that will interest many fans and perhaps bring new amateurs of this type of experience.
If we take into account what was announced during the presentation at CES 2022, it can be really solid. 2000×2040 resolution per eye, 90/120 Hz refresh rate, eyeball tracking and OLED display. For this special controllers using the options we know from DualSense. It sounds great and the only obstacle for many people may be the price.
Nevertheless, this equipment will undoubtedly be found in many homes and will make the whole crowd of Sony fans spend long hours in virtual worlds. And if words and promises are in reality, we will be able to talk about truly “next-gen” goggles. Then there is one thing left to do – providing good and addictive games. And for this reason, PlayStation should reach for the following brands!
Astro Bot
The first suggestion is in my opinion obligation that Sony should fulfill. The first game on PlayStation VR was a huge hit and the black horse of the year, and the small and free version of the adventures of a friendly robot on PlayStation 5 turned out to be a great demo of the capabilities of the console itself and the DualSense pads. Now it will be possible to do the same for the shown power that the new headset has and the loudly announced controllers.
Marvel’s Iron Man
I am counting on a sequel to the fun of Iron Man on PS VR 2. In the case of the current generation of Sony goggles it was really nice and you could feel like one of the Avengers. A continuation would have a good chance of success – especially for the sake of improved controllers and implemented haptic vibrations and adaptive buttons. Sounds great.
Marvel’s Spider-Man
And while we’re on the wish list, besides Iron Man, I’d love to see Spider-Man as well. I do not know how the power of the PlayStation VR 2 itself will be, and what possibilities it will offer in terms of graphics, but I dream of rocking around New York… Just imagine it! I wouldn’t even need a full-fledged adventure, but even a simple spin-off or demo.
Great tourism
Decent racing with a driver’s perspective on the new VR headset from Sony is a must, quite simply. And since the new GT will debut in a few months, why not serve something also for those who are tempted to buy the equipment! It worked out pretty well previously, but now I would count on a generational leap. Technology can work wonders, and I would love to race.
Ratchet & Clank
I do not count on a full-fledged version here, but more like in the case of Spider-Man, for a small spin-off or just a few hours’ adventure devoted to presenting the possibilities of PS VR 2. Maybe something like Astro Bot: Rescue Mission or Moss? It’s hard to say, but with the talent and creativity of Insomniac Games and the construction of the world itself, we would have something really interesting.
Resident Evil
For the new generation of Sony goggles, there is also a horror movie! And Resident Evil would be perfect for that. Suffice it to say that previous productions that were later transferred to VR (whether by developers or modders) were great. The series just has something about it that makes (almost) always comes out brilliant. I hope that Sony will be tempted by something more than refreshing the “seven”.
Star Wars
Star Wars and virtual reality probably always go hand in hand – and we have already received some interesting offers. Star Wars: Squadron was really fun (if you had goggles), and Vader: Immortal definitely made amateurs of lightsaber swing happy. Otherwise… Who would not like to feel the universe on their own skinwhich for so many decades has ignited the hearts of the masses of pop culture fans ?!
Dragon Ball
I cannot omit here a title that would satisfy my fantasy with Japanese pop culture. The Dragon Balls have done well once in the form of a movement game (thanks to Dragon Ball Z: For Kinect), so I see no obstacles to taking a step forward. The brand still has a lot of admirers, and the possibility of flying as Son Goku or fighting in the form of Vegeta would be a dream come true. Ka-Me-Ha-Me-Ha would finally “come true”!
Superhot
First part? A must for every owner of virtual reality equipment. It seems to me that as soon as the capabilities of the device itself and its power are properly raised, the creators could be tempted to present us a sequel. This time with larger maps, more enemies and even more interesting sequences. As for me – a must.
Crash Bandicoot
Crash has landed on almost every iteration console console, and some time ago has a separate game for smartphones. I am tempted to say that it is high time to transfer the PS mascot to virtual reality as well. Here too, as in the case of Ratchet & Clank, I would like to see something like Astro Bot where we would be helping Jamrain. Maybe a bit more difficult and more skillful? Who knows!
