It’s hard to believe that almost 12 years have passed since we opened the world PlayStation Plus presented for the first time. Wipeout HD was one of the first games made available to PlayStation Plus members back then. The PlayStation Plus product has evolved over the years, providing more than 1,000 games to members worldwide. We have regularly improved our offerings to offer an attractive package to the 47 million members who are part of the service today. Just eight years ago, we introduced PlayStation Now as a beta version. It has now matured into a comprehensive service that is enjoyed by more than three million users in select markets.
Starting today, we’re going one step further with our services. I’m excited to join our PlayStation community in Asia in welcoming the new three-tier offering of PlayStation Plus. Rollouts begin today in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. Japan will follow next week. The launch in the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand markets will take place next month.
This is an exciting time for us as we begin to bring our massive catalog of games* to PlayStation players worldwide. It is of the highest priority for us to bet on high-quality games on this service. We’re excited to offer some of the most iconic titles at launch including Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, NBA 2K22, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Returnal for Extra and Premium/Deluxe members. We will also stock popular classics like Ape Escape, Super Stardust Portable,Syphon Filter, Tekken2 and many more. These legendary games will look amazing when you play them on PS5 and PS4. Our games catalog will be updated with more exciting titles over time and I can’t wait for all players to enjoy the experience.
The journey to where we are today has been incredible and I’m really proud of the many teams at SIE who have worked tirelessly to completely transform our service offerings to provide more value and flexibility to our customers. Together, our teams have always put you, the player, at the center of the decisions we’ve made to create this compelling game subscription.
