PlayStation removes games purchased by players from their libraries. Customers cannot count on a refund

The situation with the PlayStation Store illustrates this problem very well – in many countries, Sony offers access not only to games, but also to films and series through its store. However, the corporation has lost licenses for some of Discovery’s titles, so customers… will lose access to previously purchased items.

Dear PlayStation Customer,
Effective December 31, 2023, due to our licensing agreements with content providers, you will no longer be able to watch any previously purchased Discovery productions and the content will be removed from your video library.
Click here for the full list of titles that will no longer be available.
Thank you very much for your continued support.
Thank you,
PlayStation Store

The corporation sends a short message to customers who cannot count on a refund, and previously purchased films or series will simply disappear from their libraries.

The news appeared on Reddit, where the community clearly criticizes the entire situation – customers have paid for the productions, and due to the lack of an agreement between Sony and Discovery, those interested will lose access to purchases.

There have been a lot of negative opinions about digital distribution, which is increasingly taking control, but users cannot count on peaceful access to stories.
