PlayStation Portal Availability and Pricing in Czech Republic: What You Need to Know

PlayStation Portal is offered in the Czech Republic from 5390 CZK. But finding it now in stock at a store for this price tag is like looking for a needle in a haystack. According to the shopping guide Zboží.czwhich runs the company Seznam.czbecause no online store currently has the new product in stock.

Some of them even state that the delivery time is unknown. However, it is possible to find information on the websites of other sellers that the next batch of the portal will arrive in warehouses right from the beginning of February.

The new game system from Sony is heading to the Czech Republic. It’s useless without a PlayStation 5

However, it is worth mentioning in one breath that the demand will be satisfied according to the date of creation of the orders. In other words, this means that it may not reach all users even this month. Those who created an order earlier will get the first game system.

The current situation on the market thus affects various dealers. They most often offer a new product via Internet bazaars with a surcharge of several thousand – it is an unpacked PlayStation Portal, which they usually bought only in order to be able to resell it at a profit. Prices exceeding the threshold of seven thousand crowns are no exception.

According to Zboží.cz, there are even e-shops that offer this expensive novelty and have the device in stock. You can find an offer for 7399 CZK. The question is whether in this case it would not be better to wait a few weeks until the situation on the market calms down.

What can the novelty do?

The novelty is based on the DualSense wireless controller, which is considered one of the best improvements that the PlayStation 5 console has brought.

As the name itself suggests, the wireless controller tries to involve another sense in the game, namely touch. This gamepad offers haptic feedback instead of ordinary vibrations. So the controller shakes in the hand depending on what is happening on the screen.

The players liked the novelty very much, so it’s no wonder that the new Portal game system inspired by the design of the controllers. It also takes over most of its functions, including the aforementioned haptic response. Portal also has an 8-inch LCD screen in the middle of the halved gamepad, on which it will be possible to play virtually any titles in FullHD resolution (1080p) at 60 frames per second.

It is not a standalone console

But don’t be fooled by the appearance, which resembles a full-fledged handheld. Portal is not a separate console, but only a portable game system with remote play function. Basically, it’s a wireless display with its own controller that you connect to your PlayStation 5 via home Wi-Fi.

So you will be able to play your favorite titles anywhere there is a Wi-Fi range, without having to turn on the TV. In multi-member households, this should put an end to constant arguments about whether the favorite series or the latest video game will be on the TV.

A key condition for the functionality of this system is the ability to access the PlayStation 5 via Wi-Fi

When you can’t play on the TV, you simply take the portal and continue indulging in gaming fun.

As can be seen from the lines above, it will not be possible to play outside via a mobile connection. A key condition for the functionality of this system is the ability to access the PlayStation 5 via Wi-Fi.

Sony recommends an internet connection with a speed of at least 5 Mbps, but for an optimal experience, a speed three times higher, i.e. 15 Mbps, is required. A higher speed will be needed especially for more demanding titles.
