Becoming a PlayStation Plus subscriber has become more expensive, but in return you can now alsoStreaming movies, which is not bad at all. Each month, 100 selected movies will be free to watch, in addition to more than 2,000 new and used movies from Sony that can be rented or purchased.
The streaming service formerly known as Bravia Core will be available to everyone who subscribes to PlayStation Plus Deluxe, Extra, or Premium, which are the more expensive options. Essential customers can still rent or buy movies, but will lose their choice of 100 free titles each month.
Bravia Core differentiates itself from other streaming services by offering better image and sound quality, with bitrates up to 80 Mbps, more or less equivalent to 4K UHD Blu-ray. By comparison, Netflix streams are typically around 20 Mbps.
