PlayStation players get a lot of benefits in CoD: Black Ops Cold War

If you’re going to play Black Ops: Cold War on PS4 or PS5, you can expect quite a few extras.

In a new trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Sony has revealed the benefits PlayStation 4 and 5 players will receive once the game launches.

PlayStation owners will receive two additional loadout spots to assemble weapons, ‘monthly double XP events’, 25 percent extra weapon XP when a party is made up of PlayStation players only, and skip five additional battle pass levels when purchasing a bundle.

Sony previously announced that the Onslaught mode for Zombies is also exclusive to the platform. The benefits are exclusive to PlayStation platforms until November 1, 2021, approximately one year after release.

Also revealed Activision this week on how progression works in the future. For example, all XP earned in Modern Warfare, Warzone and Black Ops: Cold War will be shared once Cold War Season 1 kicks off on December 10. Furthermore, players can use weapons from both Call of Duty parts in Warzone and all weapon XP is also shared.

Treyarch reports in addition, that prestige is undergoing a change. When players reach level 55 in Black Ops Cold War, they can earn more rewards by increasing the season level, which goes up to level 1000. Unlike the old prestige system, all unlocked content is kept.

Finally, Treyarch announced upcoming content for Black Ops Cold War. Others the Gunfight mode and a ‘new Warzone experience’ are added to the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC. The game will also be released on PlayStation 5 on November 19.
