PlayStation Hits game price increases in Brazil

A Sony increased by 24% the value of all digital games from PS4 who have the promotional seal PlayStation Hits no Brazill.

With the increase, classic titles like God of War (2018), Horizon Zero Dawn, Gran Turismo Sport, UNCHARTED 4: A Thief’s End, Untin Dawn and others, are now marketed to R$ 99,50 in our digital store. The previous price was R$ 79,90.

The change is significant for Sony’s strategy in Brazil. For the first time since 2019, the readjustment puts the Brazilian prices of games with the PlayStation Hits seal above those practiced by the company in the North American digital store in direct conversion of the dollar to real.

Titles are sold at $19.99 US USA since the creation of the seal PlayStation Hits in 2018, but maintained values lower than the conversion of the dollar, which has been on the rise in Brazil since the last presidential elections.

To get an idea of the discounts, in June 2020, Sony even reduced the suggested value of games with the seal in Brazil from R$79.90 to R$59.90 for two weeks. At the time, the dollar closed at R$ 5.40 in the country, which, in direct conversion of the North American price, would represent R$ 108.

The rise of PlayStation Hits games is the second promoted by Sony, since part of the company left Brazil. In May, Sony announced an increase in the price of PlayStation Plus in Brazil by up to R$50.
