New PlayStation Tournament features for PlayStation 5
Thanks to community feedback, we’ve introduced a few new features to make it easier and faster to join tournaments on PlayStation 5.
- Easy discovery process Finding matches is easy. Scroll to the relevant game on the PS5 home screen and press the down arrow button to see a list of upcoming games. Alternatively, check available games by launching Control Center by clicking the PS button while playing a supported game.
- Sign in to the console Registration is faster than ever. From the Control Center or Game Hub, select an available tournament and press the “Register” button to enter the tournament.
- closing parenthesis – Tournament length traditionally increases as more players compete. However, we’ve introduced a new bracketing feature to ensure a consistent duration for every game. If the limit is exceeded, multiple brackets will be created for the same tournament, but the prizes will be the same for each.
- More contests Everyone has different hours. Tournaments are held frequently and at regular intervals so that more players can find time to compete.
- Completely new user interface – The brand new contest UI uses a functional tab structure to allow you to easily view contest information. Notifications automatically fuel your experience and notify you when the next game starts. The match can be started from the ad, giving you time to practice or play other titles in between matches.
- View results automatically and in real time – After registering for a tournament, all relevant details can be accessed via its timesheet in the Control Center. Scores are automatically displayed and reported as matches progress. The status of the entire tournament class can be viewed at any time on the tournament tab.
