Microsoft previously stated that the possibility of Starfield being released exclusively on PS5 prompted the acquisition of Bethesda. But she herself returned and confirmed that Starfield will be exclusive to the Xbox. But what about Sony’s opinion on this matter?
PlayStation chief Jim Ryan recently said when testifying at the FTC/Microsoft hearing that’s going on these days. He doesn’t see Starfield’s Xbox exclusivity as anti-competitive.
Through a video recording, Ryan was asked about some of Bethesda’s games being Xbox exclusives, including Starfield and Arkane’s recently released Redfall (which we learn has a PS5 debut planned). According to Ryan, he has no issues with exclusive games as a differentiating factor for one platform over another.
“I don’t like it, but I don’t see it as anti-competitive,” said the PlayStation boss of Starfield being an Xbox exclusive. Ryan said the same thing about Redfall as an Xbox exclusive. “I don’t like it, but I basically don’t have any conflict with it.”
Basically what Ryan said is that he doesn’t like what Microsoft is doing with Bethesda games or other Xbox/PC exclusive titles, but his main concern seems to be the potential impact of Call of Duty as an Xbox exclusive.
This and the FTC had stated that it was scheduled to launch Starfield for PS5, but the matter changed after the deal.

I love video games since the days of the family console, and the best adventure games like Tomb Raider and Assassins Creed (before switching to RPG), I have no bias for any home console, for me the best is the one that offers the most unique games. What interests me is experiences with interesting storytelling, as the story is the basis of fun more than the Gameplay.
