Sony’s confidential documents point out that the brand has no plans for a new PlayStation before 2027. The leaked information is part of a lawsuit filed by the British regulatory agency CMA, relating to Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
These reports have some data correct, but point out that PlayStation may lose access to the Call of Duty franchise around 2027, further commenting that Sony would be interested in launching its new generation of consoles at the same time.
The lack of Call Of Duty franchise could be considered a problem for PlayStation, as it would reduce the attractiveness of launching a new generation. This title has a history of good sales figures.

It’s still rumored, but with a supposed PlayStation 6 launch in 2027, the current console would come full circle in nearly eight years.
This period is considered normal for Sony consoles.
