PlayStation 5 Will Not Be Available in Stores on Release Day

KOMPAS.com – Launch console PlayStation 5 is practically a matter of days.

However, Sony as the console development company stated, PlayStation 5 will not be marketed in their official store on the regional launch date, November 12 or November 19.

The PS 5 Console is available exclusively online through select retailers who are Sony partners.

Sony explained in a statement that the decision was made for the safety of employees and shop customers from exposure to Covid-19.

“Please don’t plan on camping or lining up at the local retailer on launch day hoping to get a PS 5 console.”

So says Sid Shuman, Senior Director at Sony, SIE Content Communications.

“Put safety first, stay at home and order online.”

People who have pre-ordered the PS 5 can still pick up their console at the Sony store.

However, the company advises that visitors adhere to safety protocols and other details with the retailer at their place of console pick-up.

Through uploads on November 5 yesterday, the Twitter account @ PlayStation again reminded consumers to get the PS 5 console online.

“All PS 5 console sales on launch day, November 12 or November 19 depending on your region, are only made online.”

“No units will be provided in the shop,” reads the caption on the upload.
