This manufacturer has long been rumored to be preparing a sub-generational variation of its main console. In addition to the PlayStation 5 Pro, however, there is also often talk of the PlayStation 6 as a completely new generation.
PlayStation 5 Pro on the way
YouTube channel RedGamingTech published a video on Thursday summarizing the leaks regarding the new version of the PlayStation 5 Pro. The official launch is said to be very close, as the developer studios have already received their own sample for the most part.
These samples, or “dev kits”, are sent by Sony to developers some time before the official launch of the console, so that they can create games for it and test them on the right hardware. Developer kits usually don’t have the final design, but the interior equipment is the same as the production version that will head to stores.
In practice, this means that almost nothing prevents the PlayStation 5 Pro from being introduced. According to journalist Tom Henderson, the premiere of the improved version will take place in September of this year, and then it will go on sale before the end of the year. The price should not exceed the limit of 15 thousand crowns in conversion.
The most powerful console in 2028
There is one more novelty on the horizon, namely the completely new generation PlayStation 6. According to available information, it should arrive in 2028 at the earliest, which would correspond to an 8-year cycle. The previous generation PlayStation 5 arrived in 2020 after completing a 7-year cycle after the PlayStation 4. The same period also separates the PS4 and PS3.
