Remarkably, Caviar isn’t the first company to make a PlayStation 5 out of gold. Remarkable, because normally the Russian company is always quick. Golden iPhones, Samsung Galaxy’s golden. The company has a handful of offering gold tech products.
PlayStation 5 of gold
Even before the release of the PS5 there is a company that announced a gold PlayStation 5 in the summer of 2020. Now also makes Caviar this step. The exterior of the PS5 consists of 18-karat gold with a weight of no less than 20 kg. In addition, the DualSense controller is partly equipped with gold.
Caviar has not disclosed what the PS5 will cost gold. However, expect a very expensive price tag. 20 kg of 18-karat gold alone currently has a value of around 800,000 euros. That in a PS5 case it may just be that Caviar charges 850,000 euros or perhaps a million euros for this golden creation.
It will fit nicely into the eccentric interior of a Russian millionaire, wealthy Middle Eastern sheikh or American tech entrepreneur. We can undoubtedly say that this is the most expensive PlayStation 5 ever.
