Playstation now writes via its blog that Playstation 5 will receive an update this week that will make VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) available on the console.
VRR is a technology that dynamically syncs the image update for a monitor with Playstation 5’s graphics output. The result is a softer and crispier graphic with less lag. Note that this also requires a VRR-compatible monitor with HDMI 2.1.
In the coming weeks, the following games will be updated with VRR support:
- Astro’s Playroom
- Call of Duty: Vanguard
- Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
- Deathloop
- Destiny 2
- Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition
- DIRT 5
- Godfall
- Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
- Resident Evil Village
- Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands
- Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege
- Tribes of Midgard
In the future, new games will also be able to support VRR on Playstation 5 from the beginning.
