Plays of “Diddy’s” music rise after his arrest – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – Sean “Diddy” Combs’ massive music catalog has seen a spike in streams since his arrest last week and the opening formal charges against him.

Under his many musical monikers, including Diddy, Puff Daddy and P. Diddy, business data and analytics firm Luminate said the mogul’s music saw an average increase of 18.3% in streams on- request during the week of the arrest compared to the previous week.

A spike in streaming numbers after a controversy is not uncommon. After a documentary about R. Kelly accused the R&B singer of sexual misconduct involving underage women and girls, his numbers nearly doubled.

Combs is charged federal sex trafficking and organized crime and their convictionswhich details allegations dating back to 2008, accusing him of abusing, threatening and coercing women for years “to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation and concealed carry.” He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
