Playing at JIS, Barcelona U-18 Feels like at Camp Nou

Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) invites the admiration of many people, including the former Minister of Industry Saleh Husin. What did he say?

JIS just finished holding a tournament International Youth Championship (IYC) 2021. This is the first time the tournament has been held at the stadium, which just opened last year.

Barcelona U-18 won the title by beating Atletico Madrid U-18 with a score of 1-0 through Xavier Moreno Hernandez’s goal. Even though it was attended by a limited number of spectators, the enthusiasm was still felt.

From the audience, there was Saleh Husin, who is the Minister of Trade in the First Volume of the United Indonesia Cabinet. He came to watch the final with his son Andzal Rizky Putra.

Incidentally, Saleh is a Barcelona fan, so he was happy to see his favorite team, even though it was only the U-18 team. According to Saleh, he felt like watching live at Camp Nou and Old Trafford.

Because JIS looks luxurious with all the supporting facilities in it. He hopes that in the future, more European clubs will come to Indonesia to play at JIS.

“As a football lover and Barcelona fan yesterday I really enjoyed being able to watch quality matches shown by the Barcelona and Atletico Madrid youth teams in magnificent and world-class stadiums, so it felt like I was watching football at Camp Nou Barcelona or Old Trafford Manchester United,” continued the man who is also the Chair of the University of Indonesia Board of Trustees.

“Hopefully in the future PSSI can work together with event organizers to bring in classy European clubs in turn to spur our homeland football players to increase their level.”
