Playground Games will use a proprietary graphics engine for its games – Nerd4.life

Through LinkedIN comes the confirmation that Playground Games, the Forza Horizon study and the next Fable, he is not using Unreal Engine 4 or some other “generic” graphics engine to develop his latest project. In fact, Microsoft’s internal studio is using a proprietary graphics engine for its next open world AAA.

Confirmation comes by reading the profilo LinkedIN di Philipp Welsch, Game Engine Engineer at Playground Games who among his duties wrote that he is working on the proprietary engine by Playground Games. A tool that, obviously, is used for the games in progress at the English studio, in other words the new Fable.

A news that does not surprise that much, given the technical ability already demonstrated by Playground Games in the past. Forza Horizon, in addition to being excellent arcade racing games, are video games technically incredible, able to combine an excellent level of detail with open worlds and very detailed physics.

So let’s expect this kind of technical expertise also from the next Playground Games project and maybe even the start of one sharing of technologies between all the teams inside Microsoft, exactly as Playground Games and Turn10 have been doing for some time with Forzatech or the Sony teams with all their new discoveries.
