“The players’ naturilization plans are on a large scale in order to excel at U-20 World Cup very contrary to the philosophy of fostering achievement sports in Indonesia. This step is like a short cut that does not necessarily result in the desired achievement, “said Syaiful Huda, to reporters.
“For the short term, naturalization of players can be a way to quickly score achievements. However, in the middle and long ranges, naturalization of these players only has many negative impacts,” he said again.
PSSI was also asked to consider the fate of the country’s young seeds who have forged themselves to pursue their dream of defending the Garuda team.
“Just imagine how our young players feel when suddenly they have to compete with players from countries with more established football cultures. Moreover, they know that players from other countries get various facilities from the federation, either directly or indirectly. , “said Syaiful Huda.
Syaiful Huda then also highlighted the efforts of young Indonesian footballers to reach the top level. The sacrifice of time and finances will obviously be wasted.
“How much it costs to do all that. But when there was a need to form a national team, suddenly the government and the federation preferred to naturalize the players. This is very ironic,” said Syaiful Huda.
Naturalization for 2021 U-20 World Cup also called Syaiful Huda will not show the most problems in the grass root of national football.
“These factors make the development of Indonesian football often lose direction so that it is not able to produce proud achievements even in Southeast Asia. But these obstacles should be resolved, not covered by naturalizing players to produce instant achievements,” said the PKB politician.
