Let’s start with the first problem plaguing the beta of the latest installment of the simulator of murdering legions of demons, undead and other freaks of all kinds. And they are her…
Boring and repetitive dungeons
The first phase of beta testing is behind us, so it’s no wonder that many voices of people not entirely satisfied with the current version of Diablo IV have appeared online. One of the most serious complaints is the schematic nature of the undergroundwhich, despite the fact that they are procedurally generated, have an almost identical arrangement in each case.
We start at the bottom of the map, choose one of the branches and go kill the big, bad and ugly boss located in the very center of the location. At this point, it is worth recalling that randomly constructed maps were also present in Diablo III, but in their case the repetition did not offend the players so much. Another conundrum that keeps fans of the series awake at night is the interface of this production, and more specifically – the font used in many places
Arial from hell
The traditional, gothic font that fits perfectly into the style of the game and does not break the immersion has been replaced by a font ripped out of a spreadsheet. So if you spend most of your day staring at Excel or Word and hope that you will be able to forget about the Microsoft Office suite that haunts you at every step while playing Diablo IV – I have bad news.
Despite the fact that the climatic font is still visible here and there, its presence on the screen has been reduced to an almost minimum. Both the names of dropped items and any descriptions are created using a generic-looking sans serif font devoid of any expression.
Will Blizzard take the problems with Diablo IV that players pay attention to heart and decide to change something in their work? I don’t know, but I guess.
