The idea of having a mouse that adapts to the user’s hand is not new. One of the first models with moving parts, which allowed this peripheral to be longer or taller, to adapt to the shape of the user’s hand, was the RAT by Mad Catz. This time we’re looking at Cougar’s DualBlader, an ambidextrous gaming mouse that has a set of side attachments that can be applied to customize the width.
One of the most interesting aspects is the possibility of downloading 3D models from the Cougar website, editing and printing them. As with RATs, the rear part runs on top of a rail to increase the mouse’s length, there is a screw that allows it to go up/down and an inner part, which resembles a hydraulic component, to increase or decrease the mouse’s curvature. .
Like any self-respecting gaming mouse, the connection is made via a USB cable and there is RGB on the wheel and on the button that serves to change the resolution of the sensor. When it comes to buttons, the DualBlader has twelve programmable buttons and four of them are optional. This means that the user can choose not to mount them on the mouse chassis.
When it comes to software, Cougar offers Cougar UIX, a very easy-to-use programming application that allows you to change the lighting and define macros for each of the keys.
After the configuration is done, using the DualBlader is very comfortable and precise. I’ve tried it in FPS and strategy games, and I can say that it was one of the most adaptable mice I’ve used to date.
