“Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III called the Romanian Minister of National Defense Vasile Dîncu, to whom he sent to continue to coordinate the allies’ response to the unprovoked and premeditated invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Both leaders deeply appreciated the courage of the Ukrainian people, reflected on the steadfast unity of NATO Allies, and praised the broad commitment to provide Ukraine with humanitarian and security assistance.
Secretary Austin also praised Romania’s intention to host a humanitarian aid logistics center and discussed the French-led planned multinational fighting group in Romania, “a Pentagon statement said.
