Plans advance to remodel the bus terminal in NYC

The Port Authority is moving forward with its plans to remodel the bus terminal in Midtown, considered the busiest in the world, with new green spaces and more amenities for travelers.

The agency announced a federal environmental approval process that will take place in four public meetings later this month.

This, as part of an infrastructure plan, which aims to increase the number of passengers at the Port Authority bus terminal by 40%.

The proposal includes adding 3.5 acres of public green space and removing bus traffic from city streets.

It is also planned to replace the Eighth Avenue terminal with a state-of-the-art facility.

In addition, the bus storage and parking building located between Ninth and Tenth avenues will be renovated.

The meetings will be broadcast, live, on June 23 and 24.
