Plane with Navalny bound for Germany | Abroad

Navalny had been taken to the airport by ambulance from the hospital in Omsk a few hours earlier. The hospital where the opposition leader is being treated had given permission on Friday to transfer Navalny to Germany by plane. The doctors in Omsk had previously said his condition was too bad to transport him.

German doctors

A team of German doctors had been sent to Russia on a private jet by the German Cinema for Peace organization to pick up Navalny. The politician must receive further treatment in the Charité hospital in Berlin.

Navalny passed out on a plane on Thursday. According to his spokesperson, the tea he drank prior to the flight had been poisoned. According to Russian doctors, Navalny has a metabolic disorder.

Navalny spokeswoman Kira Jarmisj posted a photo to Twitter showing the patient being lifted into the plane while lying on a bed. She reported that Navalny’s wife Julia is with him.

‘Battle for Life’

Jarmish thanked everyone who helped. “Thank you very much for all the support. The battle for Alexei’s life and health is only really starting now and there is still a lot to do. In any case, the first step has now been taken ”, said the spokeswoman.

Navalny is in a coma and on respiratory equipment, Omsk doctors reported. The flight to Berlin takes approximately six hours.
