This is reported by local news channel KHOU 11 News. Sheriff Troy Guidry confirmed to local media that all 21 passengers got off the plane safely and there were no casualties. One passenger had to be hospitalized with a back injury.
Footage of the scene shows huge clouds of billowing black smoke as firefighters tried to extinguish the burning wreckage.

The business jet, an MD-87 with eighteen passengers, was taking off, but according to local media it failed to gain sufficient altitude. The plane caught fire near Katy, not far from Houston, the largest Texas city after possibly hitting an electrical wire. It came to a stop a few hundred yards from the runway.
