A Boeing 777 made an emergency landing in Moscow in the early hours of this Friday after the pilot reported a problem in an engine, as reported by Russian media.
The pilot of the flight that covered the route between Hong Kong and Madrid reported a failure in one of the left engine control channels and requested an emergency landing on Moscow Sheremetyevo Airportsaid the news agency Interfax citing an anonymous source.
The aircraft, which was carrying goods and passengers, landed safely and no one was injured, the report added.
Last week, a Boeing 777 operated by United Airlines had to make an emergency landing in Denver after one of its engines exploded, which dumped large debris over neighborhoods and sports fields.
The investigation focuses on a shovel that appeared to be weakened from wear and tear, reminiscent of a deadly accident on another airplane in 2018.
Following that incident, Boeing recommended that airlines suspend operations of the 69 777 aircraft in service and 59 in storage powered by Pratt & Whitney 4000-112 engines.
