Two firefighters have died and 20 people are hospitalized after a plane crashed on takeoff. The incident occurred at Peru’s busiest airport in the capital Lima. Witnesses said the plane crashed into a fire engine and then caught fire.
Footage posted by passengers showed thick black smoke billowing from the plane. Airline officials said no passengers or crew were killed.

It is still unclear why the fire engine was on the runway, but Peruvian authorities have said they will treat the case as attempted manslaughter. All flights through the end of the day have been cancelled, the airport will remain closed until further notice, it was reported NOVA.
