American businessman Glen de Vries, who recently visited space with Star Trek actor William Shatner, has died in a plane crash. The small plane crashed in Hampton Township, about 100 kilometers west of New York.

In addition to 49-year-old De Vries, a 54-year-old passenger was killed, the police reported. The United States Aviation Authority (FAA) is investigating what happened.
De Vries, founder of the medical research platform Medidata Solutions, flew to space on October 13 with 90-year-old Shatner and two others in the second manned mission of Blue Origin, the space company of wealthy Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. The group was in space for a moment. Blue Origin announces that it is defeated by the death of De Vries.
