The cultural panorama of Huila hosts a series of unmissable events and, best of all, they are free to enter. Below we present some of the events that the public can attend during these festive long weekends.

As is customary, November offers a varied cultural, artistic and musical offer in Huila on the occasion of its two long weekends.
Within this framework of activities in which families can participate in the city of Neiva, the “Filvorágine” event stands out, the first International Book Fair, which began last November 1st and will continue until tomorrow, Sunday at the José Eustasio Rivera convention center. This event acquires cultural and literary relevance, since it features the participation of prominent authors, book exhibitions on various topics, conversations and workshops.
Likewise, the “Expohuila” event is taking place, which also extends until tomorrow. During this event, attendees can find exhibitors and participate in activities related to science, entrepreneurship and technology. “Expohuila” takes place in the facilities of the Huila Business Center and the Huila Chamber of Commerce, in the old Oasis Plaza shopping center.
‘Come get salt’
If someone plans to leave the city of Neiva, it is recommended to visit La Jagua, where this entire All Saints’ holiday weekend the unmissable “XXIII Witch Festival” will be taking place, a few minutes from the municipality of Garzón. During the visit, you will be able to learn about and participate in this event, which will allow you to enter a world full of culture, stories and traditions.
This festival will feature the department’s Multicultural Meeting and, in turn, will include nights of partying and the majestic meeting of stilt walkers titled “Nights of Fire and Faithful Dead”. These activities will begin today, November 4, in the main park at 6:30 in the afternoon. Subsequently, attendees will be able to enjoy a great show with different municipal groups, which will begin at 8:30 at night.
Tomorrow, Sunday, “the Night of the Faithful Dead” will take place in the main park at 10:00 pm. In addition, attendees will be able to witness an exciting thriller contest that promises to entertain the public. Finally, there will be the presence of a renowned guest, such as the group Promisiones, who will present their successful “Elementos” tour.
To end this festival, this Monday, November 6, attendees will find a varied agenda. At 9:00 in the morning, the opening of the VII Craft Fair “La Jagua: Magia del Magdalena” will take place. In the afternoon, they will be able to participate in the theater meeting, which will feature the participation of the Cuban Jorge Vargas. In addition, the “III Multicultural Artistic Dance Meeting” and the “III Multicultural Artistic Music Meeting” will be held. The grand closing of the festival, scheduled for 8:00 p.m., will be set to the Andean music of the group Iraq and Emilio Sierra.
Get ready for the next bridge
But that is not all. If someone is interested and is a lover of horses and crafts, in the south of the department, specifically in the municipality of Pitalito, two outstanding events will be held. “The 65th Equine Fair and the 31st Grade A and XI Equine Exhibition Fair”, scheduled for November 11 to 13, will take place in Asocala. In addition, the Pitalito Sectional Chamber of Commerce will begin the “Artisan Fair” on its 57th anniversary, scheduled for November 10 to 14. These celebrations promise to offer a unique and enriching experience for those who enjoy horses and crafts. Don’t miss them!
