Don Ceder (CU) and Marijn Bosman (D66) tell AT5 that ‘the mirrors to the past’ invite people to reflect on the question: what would I have done?
‘Certainly at this time when there is a lot of discussion about sensitive episodes in our history and related to some statues and monuments, this initiative is a welcome invitation to us not to reflect on and perhaps even to judge the other, but on and about ourselves’, say Bosman and Ceder.
‘The mirror makes the distance between history and the present small and thus keeps history alive’
The mirrors, which cost 25,000 euros, should also be added to the Holocaust Memorial and the Dock Worker, the National Monument on Dam Square and the Homomonument.
