GERB also boycotted the anti-corruption commission in the National Assembly

The rector of the University of Food Technologies Plamen Mollov became undetectable even for the National Assembly a few hours after he went on vacation. Today he was to be heard in the anti-corruption commission of the parliament in connection with the accusations of the head of the Bulgarian Food Agency Prof. Hristo Daskalov. It has already been announced that the point related to it will most likely be dropped. The reason is that the attempts to contact Mollov were unsuccessful – both of his phones were busy, and the emails sent received a reply from the rector of the university that he was on leave.

Before the start of the commission, Konstantin Bachiiski of “Continuing Change” also predicted that Mollov would not come because he was on leave. “This is not an excuse, because according to the Constitution, all citizens are obliged to provide assistance and appear before the committees of the National Assembly,” he said. He added that Mollov would probably not show up because he was worried about the questions he would be asked. Asked why Daskalov had not contacted the prosecutor’s office, Bachiiski said that the head of the BFSA had brought the SANS record and that the facts and circumstances of the case had to be established first.

Only 9 people secured the quorum of the commission, which today has to approve the rules for electing the head of the Anti-Corruption Commission KPKONPI. GERB did not send its representatives. Later, those present became 11 out of 17.
