During the last blood drive which was full of donations at the Monestié space, the volunteers of the Association of Blood Donors were surprised to honor their dynamic presents Elsie Tittonel. The president of the association’s departmental union, Christian Huerta came especially to present him with the medal of Knight of Merit of Blood after a speech evoking the involvement of this president who has mobilized the forces for 8 years now.
The association was created under his leadership in 2013, with a team of volunteers who support the medical profession during collections. Christian Huerta recalled the will deployed by Elsie Tittonel to achieve such a result “You contacted the departmental union because you wanted to boost blood donation in Plaisance-du-Touch. The Plaisance fundraiser welcomed around 80 gold donors today hui you receive an average of 230 per collection. You have almost tripled the donations on Plaisance. Such a result does not happen overnight, it is the fruit of incessant work … signage, interventions of all kinds, in schools and others, associations forums and so on. I want to include in this little ceremony your loyal team of volunteers, of which you are the driving force “.
After these thanks for her work, her generosity and underlining her determination, Doctor Maryvonne Pierre-Nicolas, Deputy Head of the Garonne Basin congratulated the team and Elsie Tittonel. The mayor Philippe Guyot underlines the character and the personality to manage to unite the team.
The ceremony ends with the reading of a small poem from the pen of the former director of the Marcel-Pagnol school, Alain Trémège, highlighting the work of an entire team. Appointment is given for the next collection, on May 5th.
